Mike Basirico

I'm Mike, residing in Whitsett, NC with my wife Emily, our dog, and two cats. Travel has been a huge part of my life from a young age thanks to my dad, who was the former Dean of Study Abroad at Elon University. I had the opportunity to live in Florence, Italy for four months as a teenager, which sparked my lifelong passion for exploring new places. My biggest passion is studying and visiting national parks; Emily and I are on a mission to visit all 50 states and 63 national parks, and so far, we've checked off 16 parks and 21 states. I've always been the one in my family and among my friends who plans every detail of our vacations, from hidden spots on family trips growing up to meticulously planned itineraries for our latest adventures. We've explored everywhere from New Mexico to Acadia National Park and even took a road trip across Iceland recently. As part of the ExtravaGranza team, I'm excited to help curate amazing travel experiences, especially focusing on national parks, unique hiking spots, and international destinations that are off the beaten path.

Hi, I’m Matt. I currently live in Burlington, NC with my wife and 2 young sons. My love of travel and theme parks started at a young age with family trips to North Carolina’s Outer Banks, Chattanooga, Williamsburg and Atlanta.
